First Peter Part 31 – 4:12-15

Our lesson today will take us into First Peter 4:12-15. In these verses Peter will address a little more deeply the subject of suffering, but his emphasis will be upon suffering for Jesus. We are told not to be surprised at the fiery trials that comes our way. One important point that the apostle makes about overcoming through our suffering is to have a heart that is filled with gratitude for the salvation Jesus has freely given us. We will close the podcast by applying Peter’s practical teaching that all true followers of Jesus should never be guilty of murder, theft, gossip or any kind criminal activity.

First Peter Part 13 – 2:9-10

Today’s Study will be on First Peter 2:9-10. There are a few different topics that we will dig into such as what it means to be chosen and that all true followers of Jesus are part of a royal priesthood and a holy nation. Though these topics are encouraging, my favorite is that we belong to Jesus. This lesson has some very challenging ideas so get yourself ready to learn and grow in Jesus.

Desperate for Change

One of the great truths of the Gospel is that Jesus purchased humanity with His own blood so they could walk triumphantly over the power of sin.  Tragically though, there are many who never overcome habitual sin because they get stuck in a rut of apathy and hopelessness.  The truth is that they

The Radical Jesus Part 12

In this week’s study we will dig a little deeper into the humility that defined the Radical Jesus. As we look at the radical humility that Jesus lived out on a constant basis, we are forced to look at ourselves. What defines our character? Pride or humility? In this lesson we will learn a little more about humility and why it is important for us to mature in this fruit of the Spirit through the grace of God.

Character and God’s Power Part 18

The subject of today’s podcast may seem like a strange one, but it is actually very practical. I want to study how suffering benefits us. Specifically I want to examine how God uses suffering to help develop a godly character in believers. It is good for us to understand that the trials we experience have value and are not just seasons of meaningless pain and suffering. There is a hitch to this, suffering will only truly benefit those who love Jesus. So listen and learn how the Lord will use the trials you have had, and the ones yet to come, for your well-being.

Character and God’s Power Part 8

Two important points that influence the quality of our character are the subject of today’s podcast–our frailty and the Biblical teaching on the flesh verses the Spirit. It is vitally important that we understand what influences the condition of our character or we will be destined to keep repeating the same failures. Those who have the courage to look into the mirror and give an honest answer why they act the way they do have the hope of positive change. To grow more like Jesus will powerfully influence all of our relationships.

Character and God’s Power Part 6

What does it mean that mankind is depraved? Do we have an authentic free will? This is the topic of our study today which is part six of our series on Character and God’s Power. This is a very important subject and has been a bone of contention for many in the church for hundreds of years. Well, I am not expecting to bring closure to the debate of depravity and free will with this one short lesson. But it will be a help to all my listeners who are wanting to learn how to be more like Jesus. In that end, that is what’s important.

Radical Christianity

There is a disturbing paradox that most Christians do not know exists or is not willing to address. The problem arises over our claims that we believe in the divine inspiration and infallibility of Scriptures and then question whether Jesus really meant what He said in many of His challenging statements.  Either “All Scripture is
