In this lesson in our series on love we will study two character traits of love that are found in 1 Corinthians 13. The first is that love does not keep a record of wrongs and the second is that love does not rejoice over evil. This is a good lesson.
In this lesson we will study two characteristics of the God-kind-of-love we are commanded to live out. And this comes from 1 Corinthians chapter 13, verse 5. The first is that love is not self-seeking and the second is that those who love don’t get angry. This lesson might shake you up a bit.
In part 5 in our series on Love, we will study four character traits of love, all of which are stated by Paul in the negative. At times it can be easier to define something by stating what it isn’t, rather than what it is. The four character traits are that love does not envy, does not boast, is not proud and is not rude. We all need to listen to this lesson on true love and put it into practice.
In part 4 in our series on love we will finish looking at what love is not and then begin looking at what love is. The text we are focusing upon is 1 Corinthians 13, verses two through four.
Love is the topic of this series we are in. First Corinthians 13 is the primary focus of this study, but we took some time to look at 1 Timothy chapter one, verse 5 that presents three important components of love, which is a pure heart, a good or clean conscience and sincere faith. We then returned to 1 Corinthians 13 to start digging into verse 2. This is an excellent teaching on love.
