Verses 1-14 of the 21st chapter of John is the portion of Scripture we will study in this podcast. What we see here is John’s final account of Jesus appearing to some of the apostles before He ascends to the Father. This is a wonderful portion of the Word that deals with some interesting truths. We also see here the Lord’s desire for the disciples to fellowship with Him, which is the greatest privilege given to mankind.

In this podcast we will study John 17:1-8. This is Christ’s High Priestly Prayer where He intercedes to the Father for the disciples. The climax of our Lord’s teaching in chapter eight is verse 58 where Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!” This is another bold statement where Jesus claimed to be Almighty God. In this portion of Scripture we will see the conclusion of this confrontation between Jesus and His religious, though spiritually dead antagonists. This is a very interesting account to study.

John 8:12-28 is the section of Scripture we will study today. The central theme of these verses is our Lord’s bold declaration, “I am the light of the world. In this podcast we will study verses 27-40 of the Gospel of John. This is the beginning of our Lord’s discourse on Him being the Bread of Life. He is confronting the same multitude that the day before ate of the miraculous meal that Jesus created from five small loaves and two small fish. The people only wanted Jesus to satisfy their natural desires, they did not want Him. The lesson here is powerful and reaches right into our present day.

We are still studying the event in John chapter five where Jesus healed a lame man and the confrontation with the religious Jews that broke out as a result. We will begin in verse 17 and end with verse 27. The focus of these verses are on who Jesus is and what comes out very powerfully is that Jesus is God. We see in these verses the trinity and how salvation comes through Christ alone.
