The Gospel of John Part 70 – 7 last sayings of Jesus Pt. 2

In today’s lesson we will accomplish two things. First, we will finish studying the seven last sayings of Jesus from the cross and will mainly focus upon the seventh which is, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” Second, we will finish studying John chapter 19:31-42. In these verses we will see Jesus pierced with a Roman spear to prove He was dead and to fulfill prophecy. Then we will see two members of the Sanhedrin Council that condemned Jesus actually burying of Him in a very respectful manner.

The Gospel of John Part 23 – Jn. 7:1-24

Today we will study John 7:1-24. This chapter focuses upon one event which is when Jesus goes to Jerusalem and teaches in the Temple. In this lesson we are lay the groundwork for what we will study through the rest of this chapter. We will deal with some of the historical issues that is found in this narrative and then begin to look at the teaching our Lord did in the Temple. We will close the podcast by looking at Christ’s bold statement, ““Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.” This will give us the opportunity to learn the truth about judging others and I think this is a very important topic to understand and apply to our lives.

Today we will finish up studying the sixth chapter of John where Jesus will finish the discourse on His being the Bread of Life. Within this study we will look at why many of His disciples forsook Him, which is very disturbing. The Gospel of John Part 20 – Jn. 6:27-40

In this podcast we will study verses 27-40 of the Gospel of John. This is the beginning of our Lord’s discourse on Him being the Bread of Life. Today in our continuing study of the Gospel of John we will begin with verse 28 and go through the end of the chapter. This section of Scripture is still focusing upon the confrontation Jesus had with religious people over healing a man that was invalid for 38 years. In this portion of the debate Jesus is on the offensive by revealing the terrible corruption that filled the hearts and minds of these religious people. It is very important that we see the practical application of what Jesus taught as it relates to our day and age.

We are still studying the event in John chapter five where Jesus healed a lame man and the confrontation with the religious Jews that broke out as a result. We will begin in verse 17 and end with verse 27. The focus of these verses are on who Jesus is and what comes out very powerfully is that Jesus is God. We see in these verses the trinity and how salvation comes through Christ alone.
