The portion of Scripture we will be studying comes from the Gospel of Luke. It’s about a confrontation Jesus had with a religious group called Sadducees. They don’t believe in life after death and reject the idea of resurrection. Jesus silenced these men with some profound, yet simple truth. This is an interesting lesson.
There are two historical accounts that we will examine from the seventh chapter of the Gospel of Luke. The first is the extraordinary faith of an officer in the Roman military. The second is of the mercy Jesus showed to a widow who was taking her dead son to be buried. There are some powerful truths in this lesson, so don’t miss it.
Today we will study verses ten and eleven of Ps. 51. David’s famous cry, “Create in me a clean heart” will be central to our lesson. We will also look at the challenging thought of verse eleven where David pleads that the Lord would not cast him from His presence. This lesson is sure to cause you to do some thinking.
