In this lesson from Ephesians 5:5-7 Paul will give a short list of sins that are sure to send people to hell. He goes on to warn us to be careful so that we aren’t deceived through the empty words of people that will lead us away from Christ. This is a very practical lesson for the days in which we live.
In Ephesians 5:1-2 Paul told us how we are to live, which is to imitate Christ. Verses three and four from the fifth chapter of Ephesians will define this lesson. These two verses are about what Christians should not do and how they must not live. We need to know both how to live and how not to live if we want to be authentic followers of Jesus.
Ephesians 4:30-32 are the verses we will study in this lesson. In verse 30 Paul commands us to not grieve the Holy Spirit. In verse 31 he teaches how we need to put off sin. Then in verse 32 the apostle tells us what to put on in its place. This is a challenging and practical teaching on how to walk with Jesus.
In verses 25-29 of the fourth chapter of Ephesians we will examine a power principle about living the victorious Christian life. This Biblical principle is simply described as putting off our old nature, then having our way of thinking transformed and finally putting on the new man that is all about Christlikeness. This is a powerful and practical message, so don’t miss it.
