On Loving God

Gospel of Luke Part 90 – 19:12-27

We find Jesus still in the home of Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector. Zac had repented of his sin and vowed to give half of his wealth to the poor. After this Jesus gave The Parable of the Ten Minas, which is what we will study in this lesson. This parable contains some important truths that are essential to all those who want to make heaven their eternal home.

Gospel of Luke Part 74 – 14:25-35

We will study in this lesson some Christ’s most radical teachings on true discipleship. The standard for those who want to be His true followers hasn’t changed since He originally spoke those words. The question has always been and still is, do we really want to be a disciple of Christ? This is a powerful message, so don’t miss it.

Gospel of Luke Part 68 – 12:43-53

As we are nearing the end of our study in Luke chapter 12, Jesus warns us that there is a day of judgment. He did this out of love; for true love warns of the dangers we face. The Lord goes on to talk about His coming suffering and of the radical nature of the true faith. Jesus said in verse 49, “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” This is the heart of God for His people, so it would be good for us to learn what this means. Don’t miss this lesson.

Gospel of Luke Part 66 – 12:22-31

In this lesson we will continue studying what Jesus has to say about worry. We will also look at the Savior’s remedy to this expression to unbelief. The answer is far more obvious then we might think because we are prone to look for complicated answers to what is actually spiritual problems. You will have to listen to this lesson to learn what the remedy Jesus gives for worry.

Gospel of Luke Part 55 – 10:25-31

We will begin studying a new account in Luke which is about an expert in the Mosaic Law that tried to entrap Jesus. The Lord turned the table on the lawyer and forced him to answer a question Jesus presented to him. This is a challenging exchange that teaches some important truths on what it means to follow Jesus. This interaction leads into the Parable of the Good Samaritan that we will begin examining at the end of this lesson.

First John 5:2-5 Part 31

Love and faith are the subjects in this lesson. It is important that we understand these two integral components of Biblical Christianity. Since our salvation is defined and determined by God, it is rather important that we know what He has to say on the matter. Our opinions are of no value when it comes to salvation and eternity.

First John 4:19-5:1 Part 30

This lesson comes out of First John 4:19-5:1. John continues his discourse on love and presses home what it means to be a genuine follower of Jesus. One key evidence that we have truly been born again is that we begin to love others like Jesus loves us, which is selflessly and sacrificially. This is a good and timely message.

First John 4:11-15 Part 28

The apostle John is still pressing home his teaching on love as we study verses 11-15 of the fourth chapter of First John. We will see the necessity of giving evidence that we are genuine followers of Jesus. Confession without a life that proves the validity of our confession is more than worthless, because it can be destructive. But when the true faith is lived out, the benefits are awesome.

First John 4:4-8 Part 26

In First John 4:4-8 there are two topics that we will examine. The first is a continuation of the subject of our last lesson, which was on John’s teaching about false prophets. The second topic is love, which was probably John’s favorite subject to teach and write on. There’s some good meat at this table, so pull up a chair dig in.

First John 3:13-16 Part 20

In this lesson the apostle John makes a strong contrast between those who are followers of Jesus and those who are not. The distinction between the two relate to those who live in and through God’s love and those who do not. This is a challenging message that can help every true believer walk nearer to Jesus and help those who are not one of Christ’s disciples to become one.

Ephesians 6:19-24 Part 55

The final six verses of Ephesians chapter six are the focus of this final lesson on Paul’s Epistle. We will begin looking at prayer and end in loving God with an undying love. In between we will see the need to fellowship with other saints and how that benefits our walk with God.

Ephesians 5:18-20 Part 43

This lesson is controversial. Ephesians 5:18 is the focus of this study that is on the subject of alcohol. Should Christians drink or not drink alcohol? Listen to the whole teaching and don’t get angry before you hear the entire message and prayerfully consider what is said. Ephesians 5:13-17 Part 42

This is part 42 in our continuing study on Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians. In this lesson we are looking at chapter five, verses 13-17. The main topics that will be addressed is how God is like light that exposes the hidden things in our heart and mind, and that we must be careful in how we live so that we can make the most of every opportunity. Finally, we must know God’s will. This teaching will challenge and encourage you.

Ephesians 5:3-4 Part 39

In Ephesians 5:1-2 Paul told us how we are to live, which is to imitate Christ. Verses three and four from the fifth chapter of Ephesians will define this lesson. These two verses are about what Christians should not do and how they must not live. We need to know both how to live and how not to live if we want to be authentic followers of Jesus.

Ephesians 2:20-21 Part 19

In this lesson we will finish studying the second chapter of Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians. Two of the primary subjects we will examine in verses 20-22 are the historical roots of our faith and that all true followers of Jesus are interwoven with Christ and each other to make a spiritual house where the Spirit of God dwells. This message will encourage you.
