The Gospel of John Part 72 – Jn. 20:19-23

The focus of John 20:19-23 is on the resurrected Savior revealing Himself to the disciples. We will see how Jesus greeted them and a small portion of what He taught. These were extremely important times Jesus had with the disciples because He was pouring into them truth that would be essential for them to have after He ascended into heaven. The Gospel of John Part 61 – Jn. 17:1-8

In this podcast we will study John 17:1-8. This is Christ’s High Priestly Prayer where He intercedes to the Father for the disciples. In the first five verses Jesus prays for Himself, but they are very selfless prayers that the Father would be glorified in the Son. In verse six Jesus begins praying for the disciples. The Gospel of John Part 30 – Jn. 9:3-35

In this lesson we will look at the majority of John chapter nine that is an account of a man who was born blind and healed by Jesus. This is an astounding story where you see the contrast between the self-righteous Pharisees and the humble blind man. It is the former blind man that comes out of this confrontation the winner, not only because he was healed by Jesus, but that he also made the Pharisees look very foolish. First Peter Part 38 – 5:7-8

In today’s lesson we will study First Peter 5:7-8. This is the beginning of Peter’s teaching on spiritual warfare and it begins with a right understanding of God’s love for us. This is a necessary part of true spiritual warfare because when the battle gets hot we must rest the who God is and of His care for us. This leads into Peter’s statement that we must be self-controlled because the devil is like a roaring lion looking to devour people. This point of being self-controlled is of tremendous important because it is one of the fruits of the Spirit as listed in Galatians 5. First Peter Part 31 – 4:12-15

Our lesson today will take us into First Peter 4:12-15. In these verses Peter will address a little more deeply the subject of suffering, but his emphasis will be upon suffering for Jesus. We are told not to be surprised at the fiery trials that comes our way. One important point that the apostle makes about overcoming through our suffering is to have a heart that is filled with gratitude for the salvation Jesus has freely given us.
