The Gospel of John Part 32 – Jn. 10:6-21

The Gospel of John Part 29 – Jn. 8:49-9:2

In today’s podcast we will close out chapter eight of the Gospel of John and begin chapter nine. The climax of our Lord’s teaching in chapter eight is verse 58 where Jesus declared, “before Abraham was born, I am!” This is another bold statement where Jesus claimed to be Almighty God. In this portion of Scripture we will see the conclusion of this confrontation between Jesus and His religious, though spiritually dead antagonists. This is a very interesting account to study.

John 8:12-28 is the section of Scripture we will study today. The central theme of these verses is our Lord’s bold declaration, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” We will learn what Jesus meant when He said He was the light of the world and what that means to those who are true followers of Jesus. The Gospel of John Part 20 – Jn. 6:27-40

In this podcast we will study verses 27-40 of the Gospel of John. This is the beginning of our Lord’s discourse on Him being the Bread of Life. He is confronting the same multitude that the day before ate of the miraculous meal that Jesus created from five small loaves and two small fish. We are still studying the event in John chapter five where Jesus healed a lame man and the confrontation with the religious Jews that broke out as a result. We see in these verses the trinity and how salvation comes through Christ alone.
